    About the Show

Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella is a new retelling of the classic fairy tale, which heralds the themes of: courage, honesty, justice, and above all else: kindness. Through the humble heart of one peasant girl unfairly enslaved to a life of servitude, Ella, unwittingly wins the affections of Prince Topher, heir to the throne. It is her love which captivates the Prince and transforms the Royal Kingdom out of the cruelty ensnarling it, to a Kingdom where kindness reigns triumphant. Cinderella reminds you to take courage and be kind, since impossible things are happening everyday.

Lighthouse Theatre, a dynamic group of Heritage Christian Online School students ranging from Grades 2-12, is committed to a high standard of excellence from the acting, singing, and choreography to the costumes and impressive set design. Cinderella is a happily ever after event you won't want to miss; filled with sweet musical harmonies, mighty transformations, magical pumpkin carriages, glass slippers, a fairy godmother, and a giant thrown in for good measure.

We are Lighthouse Theatre, the theatre program of Heritage Christian Online School and the first of its kind among DL schools. Located in the Fraser Valley, we are an enthusiastic group of DL students, ranging from Grades 2 to 12, who love to sing, act and dance. Our goal is to develop our students’ God given gifts to achieve excellence in the performing arts, to His glory. Lighthouse Theatre is committed to a high standard of excellence, from the acting, singing and choreography to the costumes and impressive set design. Since September, we have been rehearsing three and a half hours each week, in Abbotsford. It’s been amazing to witness the transformation that has occurred among the students, as they have found their voice and discovered a new confidence to communicate on stage. We are so proud of each one of them!

It has been an honour to serve as a Support Teacher with HCOS for the past nine years, and now as an Executive Producer providing an opportunity for our students to hone their performing arts skills. Our school, together with the directors/producer, students, parents, and Board of Directors, has worked tirelessly on this labour of love to carve the way for this dream to become a reality. This is our gift to you...enjoy!

I have loved musical theatre since I was a little girl. My passion is singing and I was trained in classical voice through my teens and twenties. I have been a performer since childhood as a soloist, in bands, choirs, a vocal jazz group , and a worship leader in various churches. I took an acting course at the Arts Club Theatre and performed on stage in Vancouver, which was very exciting for me. In my "spare time" I enjoy photography, scrapbooking, reading, visiting with friends and travelling whenever I can. I have been a theatre "mom" for 11 years, watching both my daughters sing, dance and act their way through their childhood and on into their teens. I homeschooled both Sarah and Nicole until they graduated and I have been blessed to be working with them in HCOS/Lighthouse Theatre productions.

    Sarah Farion
    Artistic Director Choreography/Acting

I began my theatrical career at the age of 8 and have been involved in musical theatre for 12 years now. The Lord has given me a passion for acting, singing and dancing throughout my life. Shows I have performed in are Music Man, Annie Get Your Gun, Fiddler on the Roof, Alice in Wonderland, Beauty and the Beast, Anne of Green Gables and my all-time favorite role was playing "Gertrude" in Seussical. I am involved with Xtreme Theatre's Alumni group where I continue to use the gifts and talents the Lord has given me in musical theatre.

God has blessed me with the gift of dance and I have been dancing for 15 years now. I have been trained in Jazz, Ballet, Lyrical, Stage, Modern, Tap, Hip Hop, Contemporary and Pointe. I took the Royal Academy of Dance ballet exams from Grade one - Advanced one. I have been teaching dance for the past 4 years and am currently taking classes at the Dance Barn in Langley.

    Nicole Farion
    Artistic Director Voice/Acting

I have been in Xtreme Theatre for 10 years and I am continuing to perform with our Xtreme Theatre's Alumni group. I have been involved in shows such as Alice in Wonderland, Beauty and the Beast, Anne of Green Gables, Seussical, Peter Pan and my personal favorite, Alice Through the Looking Glass, where I played the Red Queen. Theatre has been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember and I will never stop loving it!

God has blessed me with the gift of singing and I have been taking voice lessons for the past five years. I have taken my Royal Conservatory of Voice exams up to Grade 8 and my plan is to continue training up to my ARTC. I teach voice lessons for aspiring singers and I am really enjoying it.
